Abstract
The huge natural gas reserve has been discovered in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. Several countries have started their drilling activities since 2015. One of these countries is Lebanon which has begun in 2020. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to study and optimized the drilling parameters of the first offshore well drilled in Lebanon. Two techniques have been used: Data Mining and KNN algorithm. The data mining was used to analyze and determine the unexpected relationships among drilling parameters and the 8 1/2″ section of well I drilled in block IV was used in this study. Furthermore, the KNN algorithm was built to statistically classify the non-parametric drilling data of three drilled sections:26″, 17 1/2″, și 12 1/4″ in that well. Both techniques deduced new non-parametric relationships and proved their success during match with field data.
